Masters Thesis

Investigating Purchase Intention of Gender-Fluid Fashion Products

For my dual international MBA program, I researched consumer behavior toward gender-fluid fashion products. This thesis explores how internal and external factors influence consumer behavior within the gender and fashion landscape. I studied how consumers' different identities (gender identity, social identity, self-identity, and self-congruence) impacted their feelings toward gender-fluid fashion. From my findings, I cultivated insights into how marketers can better connect with diverse audiences when selling gender-fluid products. These insights delve into better methods for holistic and inclusive marketing and help formulate a set of best practices to use when communicating and connecting with consumers who have a variety of different identities.

Undergraduate Honor's Thesis

Food and Beverage Businesses as a Platform for Art Dissemincation in the Age of Neolocalism: Exploring the Artist Persepective

Published by the Journal of Gastronomy, Hospitality, and Travel  in 2022

For my undergraduated honors thesis I studied how nelocalism, or a renewed interest in all things local, is influencing the hospitality industry. My research examined how local businesses create distinct customer experiences and cultivate a sense of place by integrating local art and artistic traditions. I examined this behavior from the perspective of local artists' experiences, asking them indepth about how they connect to local businesses and partner with them as platforms for further work dissemination. From this work I created a plan of action with steps to help alleviate barriers blocking diverse artistic perspectives and participation in order to faciliate wider and more diverse artistic representation in small towns.
